Targeting ECPro "All Events page with WooSidebars (widget area) plugin

I apologize if this question is too much in the realm of “other people’s plugins” but I suspect a lot of us are using Woothemes + ECPro.

Here’s the situation:
The default sidebar for my website includes the ECPro calendar widget. But when I click on “All Events” and get a big ol calendar, I don’t want to show the mini-calendar in the sidebar any more. “WooSidebars” to the rescue! I can create a custom widget area and assign it to the Events page, right?

Wrong: for some reason, I can’t specify any set of conditions that will match the “Events” landing page (presumably because it isn’t a real page.) My best effort was to tell ECPro’s display settings to use my “EVHS Events Page” template, and then set the sidebar condition to match my template called “EVHS Events Page”, but this doesn’t trigger the override.

I took a look at your issue and see what you are talking about, but it’s got me stumped. I’m going to give this to one of our more dev-minded support folks and put this on the priority list for the morning.

Hi Canton: there’s a not a lot we can offer right at this point in time – but do note that we are actively working on some ideas to help improve compatibility specifically with Woo’s sidebar plugin.

So, if you can hold tight, we’ll hopefully be able to deliver some changes over the next few maintenance releases that help with this.

Do we have an update on this? I would like to add a woosidebar the the main events page. I can target the tribe_events CPT for single only at the moment.

Hi!

I’m afraid we have nothing further to report. We did indeed start looking into this however, since late 2013, the amount of demand we were seeing for this really tailed off – in fact yours in the first request I’ve seen in quite some time.

That’s not to say we won’t still consider doing further work here, just that in the circumstances we felt it better to prioritize other issues. The best course of action at this point would be to post your request on UserVoice which is our preferred channel for feature requests:

I can’t see any existing requests for this so you may need to create a fresh one (but if you do find a pre-existing request that meets your needs feel free to show your support by up-voting it 🙂 ).

There’s not too much more we can offer at this point so I will go ahead and close the thread, but if we can assist with anything else please don’t hesitate to let us know by opening a new thread.
