Tagging on import

When I do a one-time import with Aggregator, I can set the category but I can’t tag. It would really great if I could tag at import time. Is there a way to do that?

Thanks so much for reaching out!

One thing you could try is to add the snippet in the following forum thread into your child theme’s functions.php file in order to add tags:

Thanks for the speedy reply!

While I’ve never written code for WordPress specifically, I’m a pretty solid PHP coder. As best I can tell from the snippet, it looks like it would just hard code the tag ‘pizza’ every time (or whatever string is put in there). I need more flexibility… ie, not hard-coded tags, but rather being able to supply any kind of tag at import time. This is really important to me and I’m surprised it’s not already a feature.

You are correct about that snippet.  Unfortunately, I don’t have a suggestion with more flexibility at this time, as we are limited by our Support Policy on how much we can assist with customizations.
