Tag filter doesn’t carry when you advance the month on monthly view.

We have a calendar that has events listed in all fifty states. We have set up each state as a tag and we have tagged each event accordingly with it’s state. We would like to be able to have users choose the state they want to see events listed in and have the plugin return a monthly view calendar using the tag filter. This works for the current month, perfectly. But, when the calendar is advanced to the next month, the calendar reverts to the unfiltered monthly view with every listing showing and has to be re-filtered to the state using the tags drop down.

We installed a taxonomy plugin and created a new set of taxonomies for the states separate from the events categories. The problem with this is that it returns only the archives page which is completely useless for what we are trying to do.

Is there a way to get a tag or a taxonomy to return a monthly view calendar that will hold the filter when the month is advanced like it does when the events categories are used?

** side note ** We have 30 categories BEFORE we start trying to further filter by state. We don’t want to add the states as event categories for several reasons but the main one is that It clogs up the events categories section of the submission form and makes it even more unruly and even less user friendly. So we have to find a different way of accomplishing this.

This is perfect except that there are just too many complications with having that many categories (30 for our regular categories and another 50 for the states) – just too messy on the submission form

This one really doesn’t work at all for what we need.

Hi,

Sorry for the issues. Currently the ajax drops the categories when advancing and show all of them. This is a bug and we are working on fixing it.

In the mean time you could use this coding to disable ajax:

Add that to your theme’s functions.php.
