ParticipantHello,
Is there a way to when browsing the calendar using the month view preserve the month you stopped browsing when you switch, let’s say, to list view? i.e., I’m browsing the calendar using the month view and I stop in June, then I decide to switch the mode to list view and it automatically goes back to April but I want it to stay in June.
Thank you!

MemberHi Again,
When I search for events on my site and go to say June in month view and then switch to list view it keeps me in June still for list view.
I visited your site and see that is not happening, as you described.
In my site the Events From field in the event bar stays populated. In your site that gets removed.
In the console their are no javascript errors I am getting these as 404 errors:
https://www.google.com/uds/?file=ads&v=3&packages=search&async=2
That second one is strange as mentions tribe events, but is not actually part of our plugin. That link it is referencing is found in your theme and I only get this error on the month view.
I think whatever coding you have in your theme that is producing that link is causing the issue in Month View as I can go to List view and go to events in June and then switch to Month View and it keeps me in June.
Are you able to look around in your theme or have your developer look for any event customizations and see about removing them or fixing them to resolve this?

ParticipantHi Brian,
The only difference in what you did and what I did is that I did not search for anything. Just visiting the event calendar at https://cityofwinterpark.org/events/ and using the links “May »” and then “June »” you will see “Events for June 2015” then if you switch the view to view as “List” it goes back to Upcoming Events for April 2015.
The first 404 error is an error from Google Custom Search. Google haven’t fixed that yet and I don’t think that affects anything.
The second 404 I had noticed before I will try to search for that and hopefully find where that is being mentioned on the theme.
Thanks!

MemberOk a bit miscommunication on my part. I am not searching either, when you change months or move in the list view the Events From field automatically populates.
So that field should stay populate when you switch fields so it can keep track where you are at.
It seems in your Month view when you switch that field is no carried over.
It could be related to that 404 error or not, but that is the first thing to look into resolving and then we can take another look.
Thanks

ParticipantHi Brian,
I’ve just fixed that 404 error. It has a class calling a PNG for the pop-up on the month view. Not a big deal but I was able to find and remove it.
So any other tips?
Thanks!

MemberYou can try running through our testing for conflicts guide and see if that helps narrow down the issue:
I am not able to reproduce on your site with my base install using a codex theme so it could be a script in your theme or a plugin that is emptying the Search From field when you switch from month view to another view.

ParticipantThank you, I will try to troubleshoot a little more.
I appreciate your help.

ParticipantBrian,
While I still don’t have the ability to run all the tests for conflicts since my website is in production and my development environment is not ready yet I was able to verify that the issue only happens when switching from and to month view. If you switch any other view but the month view the date is kept and the plugin does not loose it when alternating views. (You may have already stated that but I’m posting here in case you didn’t.)
Thank you.

MemberOk sounds like we are on the same page.
Once you have the development environment available.
I would look to see if you have any other customizations for the events calendar and if removing that helps.
Also, seeing about upgrading from jQuery 1.9.1 to jQuery 1.11.1 and see if that resolves the issue.
Let me know what you find out.
Thanks

ParticipantI forgot to mention we did in fact upgrade to jQuery 1.11.2.
Thanks!

Thanks

ParticipantHi Brian,
This is what I got from one of our programmers:
——————-
“I did a pretty exhaustive testing routine on this bug. I can’t figure out why it’s only happening on your site. But here’s what I did.1) I changed back to a default theme
2) I disabled all plugins with the exception of the events calendar plugins
3) I removed the filter bar plugin
4) I removed all of our JavaScript so the only scripts being called were the ones directly from the events calendar.
5) I tried uploading brand new versions of the events calendar/pro/filter bar plugins. The bug still persists. But the only way to trigger it is to navigate in any direction in the month view, then switch to any other view. If you navigate the dates in any other order, the date you’re on does seem to persist.”
——————-Do you have any other suggestion?
Thank you!

MemberI see if I can think of something, but right now I do not have an idea where this is coming from.
Did the bug still happen no matter what was loaded for the theme and plugins?

ParticipantYes. Thank you!

MemberI tried to reproduce the error and not getting anywhere on a bunch of different sites.
There is not much else I have to go on to look for a solution.
However, can you confirm when you use a codex theme(Twenty Thirteen) from WordPress and only the Event Calendar Plugin it still does this?
