Subscribe NOT import Calendar Events

I’m trying to subscribe to ‘the events calendar’ events on http://birminghamchurch.org.uk/events and NOT download the .ics file similar to what has been described here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/ical-subscriptionfeed/. That means that if I change/delete/add events on http://birminghamchurch.org.uk/events I want these changes to feed through to my Google Calendar.

Based on the previously mentioned forum threat I have tried to add webcal://birminghamchurch.org.uk/events/?ical=1&feed-year=1 in Google Calendar but it doesn’t recognise the URL and neither does Chrome (browser).
