Style First Event differently with Event list Advance Widget

Hi I need a to style the first Event differently as you can see in http://www.rkmkhar.org middle column. I am using Event List Advance Widget. Can anyone help me find a solution.

You could potentially do this via CSS by using the :first-child selector. Your upcoming events list looks a little strange though (in terms of its HTML structure) … have you customized it at all?

Hi Barry,
I am using 2 widgets,
1) Next Event Widget to show the Featured upcoming Event
2) Event List advance widget to show the normal upcoming events.
Is there any simplest way to do so? I have created 2 categories Featured and Normal and I am trying to exclude the Featured events to get repeat in normal category. In this way I am facing problem I can’t pre select anything as whatever I select as Featured get omitted from the Normal.

OK, so excluding a category is a different problem and it would be great if you could create a new thread for that question.

Going back to your original issue, are you broadly happy with the :first-child CSS approach?

Thanks for you quick response Barry. The :first-child in CSS will be a good idea but here it won’t work as I will not have control over the Featured Event.

OK … I’m not quite sure I understand.

I thought you wanted to style the first post in the events list widget differently? Why is the featured event causing a problem there?
