GuestHello,
I am using a the Spanish language files for the events calendar plugin. It is really nice but the links “All Eventos”, “Previous Eventos” and ” Next Eventos” have mixed contents both in English and Spanish. I have checked the .po file and included all the missing translations where the words “All”, “Previous” and “Next” are included. I have exported it to .mo format and uploaded by FTP, but nothing changes.
It is essential that this basic information could be translated but it seems that these specific text strings are not included in the .po file or for some reason the translations are not showing.
Do you know why? The pluging is excellent but before purchasing the pro version I would need to know how to solve this issue.
Thanks in advance.January 9, 2017 at 12:15 pm #1215268Geoff B.
MemberGood afternoon Lewis and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.the links “All Eventos”, “Previous Eventos” and ” Next Eventos” have mixed contents both in English and Spanish.
There could be a couple of reasons for that:
- If a language file for our plugin is found under /wp-content/languages/ or /wp-content/languages/plugins/ it will bypass the language files found in our plugins /lang folder. If that is the case, you’ll need to update these files using the POT file with Poedit (Catalog > Update from Pot file) OR delete these files
- It is possible that the language file found in our plugin’s /lang/ folder might actually not be updated. In that case, you can grab the latest version from here: http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects and overwrite the language file
- Finally, there is the possibility that your theme might be taking over some of these translations. Could you tell me which theme and what version of that theme you are using ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.

GuestDear Geoff,
Thank you very much again for your help. You are right. For some reason the folder /wordpressblog/wp-content/languages/plugins had a not correctly translated version of the po and mo files, so I have deleted these files and now the strings are showing perfectly on the site.
I really appreciate your quick assistance with this.
Best regards-
