strange behavior

    I just upgraded to event calendar pro. I have two events listed. 1 is not showing up at all under events for feb 2. and the other is posting twice (feb 8th event). the site is http://positiveparentingct.com. I am at a loss as to why and what to do. Please help!

    Hi Pam. Thanks for the note here; sorry to hear that you’re having issues. This is the first I’ve heard of this problem so let me see if our dev Jonah has any suggestions. One thing I’d suggest right off the bat: deactivate any other plugins you’ve got active to see if the issue persists. It’s very possible that this is a conflict with another plugin so if you’re in an environment where you can deactivate, please let us know if that fixes things. Otherwise Jonah can take a look.

    Ok, I found out it doesn’t like my Wishlist member plug in. Not sure how to proceed but I will talk to them as well.

    Hi Pam. Thanks for confirming; you’re the second user today who has reported the conflict with that particular plugin. I would certainly suggest posting to their support forums as well (in case they have any suggestions), and if you’d be willing to provide us with a copy of the code, we can see if anything jumps out at us as well. (Any testing we do will be in a local environment so won’t violate the terms of your license).

    Let me know if you’re interested. No guarantees that we’d be able to fix it, since it’s hard to make a plugin play nicely with anything else out there, but it’s the best I can offer at this point.

    I spoke with Wishlist and they specifically have no offer of help except the forum. So I will go look in there and see what I can find. I need assistance in know what code I should send you (I am a front end user and this stuff is hard for me!). So if you could be specific as to where I locate the code you want, I can get that for you. In the meantime, I will let you know what I find out.

    Hi Pam. No problem – when I meant “the code,” I just meant the plugin itself. As it looks to be a paid plugin we aren’t in a position where we can buy it just for testing purposes. But if you were able to help us with that (and again, testing would all be local so no license violations would occur) it’d allow us to try and troubleshoot what’s up.

    Let’s wait until you hear back, though, in case this is an easier fix than that.

    I’d be happy to give you a un and pw if you wanted to look or I can attach plug in to an email. I do not know if you can run the plug in without the license key to test on your own site. I can ask wishlist for a temp key if you’d like. In the meantime, Wishlist support will be no help and I am not in a position to stop using them for this application, so I am researching other event plug ins. Let me know the preferable email to send log in or the attachment.

    Hi Pam. Unfortunately the only real way we can fully test this is on a local environment with the plugin. I would be surprised if Wishlist were willing to give a temp key but if you can point me to who you’re working with on the forums there I can try to email them directly about it. Otherwise it seems like unfortunately another Events plugin, one that doesn’t have this conflict, may be the best route.
