State within Venue does not change base on Country

Hey tribal support,

I am facing some glitch here, I have set the default country in the setting as Malaysia but in the events page states listing is still of the Unites States, can this be change to states/district from selected countries i.e Malaysia ? or can it be change to a text field where we can manually add the state name and how will this show in Google map ?.

Another glitch i am facing is in add an events form if a user chose a “saved organizer” the form does not go through coz it still requires the organiser email. This is a problem coz if a user needs to create an organiser every time we will have a repetitive list of organiser.

Please guide me how to overcome these problem.

Hi Carl,

I’m sorry to hear you are facing some difficulties.

This first thing I need to note though is that we try hard to deal with one issue per topic – so let’s deal with the first problem here and then if you can create a fresh topic for the second issue one of the team will be only too happy to help 🙂

Though you’ve posted in the Events Calendar PRO forum I’m not clear if we’re discussing the Community Events submission form or the regular event editor within the admin environment (or both) – can you confirm?

Would it also be possible to see a screenshot of the issue – though there is currently a bug that means the US state selector will continue to appear even if you have chosen some other country, a text field to provide an alternative, non-US region should also be present.

(Though you cannot upload screenshots here directly, you can upload them to your own WP site/Dropbox or some similar service and share the link here.)

So up above the fields you can see in your screenshot there should be a plain text default province field – is that visible and does that meet your needs here?

Yes the empty field i can enter the default venue but in the map its not exact location, how can i have my venue to actully be accurate on google map ? can i add longitude or latitude on venue ? currently the map is just general location here is some venue i have added please guide me how can i get my venue on google map to be exact location

So I’m not quite sure that this relates to the state/province field, unless I’m misunderstanding, but in the interim if you need to fine tune the longitude or latitude of venues you can use this third party plugin (not supported here on the theeventscalendar.com forums) which adds a coordinate metabox to the venue editor.

Would that provide you with what you need?

Thank you very much Berry with the help of the Event Rocket plugin i am able to get the exact location of the events and like you have suggested the state i am using the text field to fill in name of the state.
