Staging site says "Out of Installs"

    My staging site, which is myhostname.staging.wpengine.com, seems to meet the criteria for being able to use the same license as my dev site, but it says “out of installs”.

    Also, when I go yo My Account > License Keys, I can see my URL is set up with my local dev env with only a “Disconnect now” action. Can I not use the license on dev and staging at the same time?

    And what happens when I’m ready to move to my production site? I’ll never want to disconnect it from production once that’s up. Does that mean I can never test it on local or stage again?

    I would love to help you with this topic.

    In theory you can. But truth be told, we are still working on improving the automated recognition of what constitutes a valid staging/local site.

    Please bear with us as we do that.

    And what happens when I’m ready to move to my production site? I’ll never want to disconnect it from production once that’s up. Does that mean I can never test it on local or stage again?

    I have a couple of great news for you:

    1. The license key is not necessary to run the plugin. It only allows you to do “automatic updates” (straight from wp-admin)
