Nathan
ParticipantOne particular event in my calendar doesn’t seem to show in ‘month view’, but still shows in other modes like ‘list’. Can’t seem to figure out why, as all the settings are the same as other events.
Calendar is here – http://angusnz.com/events/month/?tribe-bar-date=2016-06-26 (27th of June should be showing the event below)
Event not showing on calendar is here – http://angusnz.com/event/kaharau-angus-bull-sale/2016-06-27/I thought it might be blocked due to the “Number of events to show per page” under “general settings” being less than the total number of events on that month, but even setting that higher does not work.
Are you able to help me please.

MemberHi there Nathan,
Thanks fro reaching out and sorry to hear about this issue.
I see you marked as this was tested for conflicts (no other plugins active and default theme), Did you notice any difference in the display?
Does this event have an end date set different from the start date? If they have the same value, please try to change the end date to an hour later and re-test.
Also, is there something different in the setup of this event with others that do show in month view?
Please let me know about it,
Best,
NicoApril 6, 2016 at 3:35 pm #1099259Nathan
ParticipantYup, tried it without all plugins and on 2014 theme. Still wouldn’t work for me.
I’ve since tried changing the time, but it only seems to show in the calendar if the start time is set to “AM”. If I set the start & end times to “PM” it doesn’t show in the calendar (I have checked this on multiple events). So I’ve changed the affected event to “all day event” in the meantime, which seems to work.
Seems like a bug to me, as I haven’t really altered anything beyond CSS styles (and no “display: none;” changes that should hide it or anything).

MemberHey Nathan,
Thanks for following up! It does sounds like a bug, I would like to check on this to see if I’m able to reproduce it on my side as well.
Can you send over a screenshot of the event configuration? I mean when the event doesn’t show up…
Thanks,
NicoApril 7, 2016 at 2:38 pm #1099843Nathan
ParticipantOk, a screenshot can be found here – https://www.dropbox.com/s/6kc9yj73p1bz6lq/event-settings.jpg?dl=0

MemberThanks for following up with the settings screenshot!
I guess the event is not showing because the start date is the same as the end date. Can you try to modify the end date to 5pm for example?
Please let me know about it,
Have a great weekend,
NicoApril 10, 2016 at 2:44 pm #1100630Nathan
ParticipantYes, even if I change the end date to 5pm it still won’t show. It only seems to show if both times are set to AM or the start is set to AM and the end to PM. All the other view modes seem to work fine, but I really want the month view to work.

MemberTHanks for testing that out Nathan, I’m suspecting this might be related to timezone config. I’ve searched the backlog to see if I could find a related bug but I was unable to find one. So let’s continue to test this maybe we are hitting new bug here!
Can you try to change the event timezone to UTC (I see it’s configured to Pacific/Auckland) and see if it shows up? https://cloudup.com/cI6YV6pknVL
Thanks,
NicoApril 11, 2016 at 3:18 pm #1101016Nathan
ParticipantDid some tinkering with the timezone, and yes that seems to be what’s causing the missing calendar events. It doesn’t seem to work for any “UTC+” timezone (we are UTC+12 here), regardless of whether it’s set to “UTC+12” or “Auckland”. If I changed it to a “UTC-” timezone (or that of an American city for example) it started working, but obviously this is not a solution for me.

MemberHey Nathan,
Thanks for following up and for troubleshooting this!
I’ll review this on my end and try to reproduce and identify the pattern in this buggy behaviour. If it’s possible as a workaround try setting the site timezone to UTC and the timezone mode in WP-Admin > Events > Settings > Timezone mode to Use the sitewide timezone everywhere.
I’ll give you a heads up on this shortly!

MemberNathan,
Thanks for the patience while I made some test over my local install.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue (this doesn’t imply it’s not a valid bug). Basically it’s not possible for our devs to fix an issue we cannot reproduce. I’ve used the exact same setting as the ones in the event you sent over but I’m still seeing it in Month View.
I see your event is part of a recurrence series. Does the same happen for single events? Also, does changing the site timezone to UTC+12 instead of the city named timezone changes the display of the event?
In case we get stuck on the troubleshooting: Do you have a staging, dev or local WordPress install where you could recreate this issue with no other plugins active and default theme?
Thanks for the patience and cooperation to solve this issue ๐

ParticipantChanged it to a single event, but the issue persists. Changing the site timezone didn’t alter it in it’s current form either.
I’ve been playing around with event and sitezones a lot, and it doesn’t seem to like any UTC+ timezone after “9” – even if both set timezones match. Weirdly, it seems to work ok if I set both timezones to something like UTC+1 though to UTC+9 i.e. UTC+10,11,12,13,14 not working for me. UTC-1 through to UTC-12 work ok though.
I could try installing it on a fresh domain and see if it still does it.

MemberHey Nathan,
Thanks for following up and for the testing, really appreciate it!
I’m still struggling to reproduce the issue in my local install,
I’ve tried with named timezone Auckland and with UTC+12, both in WordPress and also on the event, but the event always shows up. I’m not sure what might be the configuration difference between my site and yours. Can you please send over a screenshot of the general settings (like this https://cloudup.com/c37U_f9mfci)?
If you could test this in a fresh install that would very helpful! If it can be an online install even better.
Thanks,
NicoApril 19, 2016 at 5:30 pm #1104642Nathan
ParticipantI’ve finally found the cause of the issue – it was the “Timezone Settings” of the plugin itself i.e. Not the individual events, but the plugin’s own settings under menu Events > Settings.
When I switched the Timezone mode to “Use the local timezones for each event” (see attached image) it started displaying all of the events in month view.
Not sure why only month view failed to display with the other setting option, but perhaps that will give you something to help narrow-down the cause of the bug (if it is one).
Thanks for all the help.

MemberHi Nathan,
Thanks so much for going the extra-mile with this issue, and glad to hear it’s resolved ๐
This type of issues (where we cannot reproduce the error) can be pretty hard to help with! I’ll continue to troubleshoot this, so I can log the bug (which surely exists here) for it to be fixed.
Iโll go ahead and close out this thread, but if you need help with anything else please donโt hesitate to create a new one and we will be happy to assist you.
Best,
