Special – and some not so special – characters seem to break the Additional Attendee functionality.

We’ve had a number of ticket registrations with mandatory additional attendee fields that come through as blank (with nothing stored in the postmeta table). I suspect these are related to customers with professional designations.

    Ex:
    First name: Joe
    Last Name: Smith, PHD

Also, I’ve confirmed that an ampersand cuts off the data in the field.

    Ex:
Business Name: “A & B Partners” is stored as “A”

Can we get a fix for this added to the dev task list for this product?

    Many thanks!

Hi Ryan. Thanks for your bug report. I was able to confirm this bug.

I’ll mark this ticket as Pending Fix, which means this thread should receive a reply once the applicable fix has been released. I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed as it’s in the development team’s hands now. They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release. I apologize for this issue and appreciate your understanding and patience.

    Hi Ryan,

I wanted to confirm that this issue has been fixed within our plugins. Any current version of Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus should handle any “special characters” without issue now.

    Cheers!
    George
