ParticipantHello,
We have both The Events Calendar (Version 3.9.3) and have purchased The Events Calendar Pro (version 3.9.3). When I login to WP-admin and try to activate the license for The Events Calendar Pro I receive this error:
“Sorry, key validation server is not available”
I have tried the following:
Tried to validate the license key in both Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Ensured there are no spaces in the license keyI have ensured that both versions of The Events Calendar are activated.
I have tried multiple times today to validate the license and each time I receive the same error.
The site is a Dev site located at http://bulletproof.azurewebsites.net

MemberHi,
Sorry for the issues you are having. I can help resolve this with you.
Please note the license keys are not needed for the plugin to work, they are only needed for automatic updates.
To get some information about the issue can you please try downloading this simple plugin called Validate URL:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nyugz86o4401ayg/validate-url-.7.zip?dl=0
After Activating go to Tools > Validate URL
Enter in these two urls:
As well as these two IP addresses:
And let me know the response code you get.
If none of those are able to connect it means the site is blocked from accessing our servers and you would have to whitelist those ip addresses or check the connection if no sites are accessible such as https://google.com from the validator url check.
Let me know what you find out.
Thanks

ParticipantHello,
Yes the site does have an SSL certificate which is valid from January 12, 2015 to January 11, 2017. I believe its hosted on a Windows Server.
Thank you,

MemberThanks for the information we are still unclear on the source of this issue, but working to resolve it.
Please note your site will function without the license keys, but you will have to manually update the plugins.

ParticipantWe appreciate any assistance on this matter. I just tried to validate the license again and again I get this error:
Sorry, key validation server is not available.

MemberWe are still looking into the issue. It is a very rare bug and we are still not certain on the exact cause.
We will update this ticket once we have more information.
Please note that the plugin works without the license keys and only the automatic updates will not work.
