    Hi
I recently updated the events calendar to version 3.0.3, but when then seeking to upgrade Calendar Pro to the same level it keeps giving the message “Sorry, key validation server is not available.” and therefore it’s not recognised for upgrades. The plugin was licenced relatively recently, and hasn’t expired.

    Hi Mallenbaker,

Thanks for your question. This is one that has come up few times in the past, and there’s a few simple things to check that can help us trouble shoot the issue.

First of all check and make sure you have reactivated the events calendar plugin before trying to update the PRO plugin. Second I’d double check that the code has no empty space before and after the code. Third, login to your tri.be account o tri.be with your credentials, go to Account Central -> License Keys and make sure the key appears and isn’t already linked to other sites?

Let us know how you get on with those simple options and if it’s still happening after that we can dig deeper for you.

    Hi
I did these things, and still no luck. When I went to Account Central, there was no URL associated with the key – including this site (gislingham.com) – I couldn’t see how to add the URL.
    Thanks – Mallen

Hi, Mallen. I’m sorry you’re having so much trouble with the key.

There’s no need to enter the URL of the site into your account here. It’s picked up manually. So, that shouldn’t be the issue.

If you’d like to give us credentials, we can check it out on the backend of your site. Just let us know how you’d like to proceed.

Hi, Mallen. Thanks for the credentials. I was able to log in to your site.

It looks like the issue is that you have not yet upgraded the ECP plugin. To do this, please follow the steps in our FAQ here: https://tri.be/faqs/how-do-i-update-events-calendar-pro-when-a-new-version-comes-out/

If you have problems with upgrading that way, you can upgrade manually by going to your downloads page here: https://tri.be/my-account/downloads/ and uploading the zip that you download from there. Be aware that you’ll need to rename the old directory or you may get an error that it can’t overwrite it.

Please let us know how it goes!

That doesn’t make sense. My help request was because I couldn’t upgrade the plugin because the key wouldn’t validate. You’ve now responded to say that the problem is that I haven’t upgraded the plugin. The process described on your FAQ doesn’t work because it doesn’t validate the key, so it doesn’t give me the option to upgrade. That was rather the whole point of the help request.

Hi, Mallen. I’m sorry if I upset you. That surely wasn’t my intention.

If you’re having trouble upgrading automatically, would you mind trying to download the latest version from your accounts download page here: https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/

That should give you access to the .zip file, which you can then upload to your site. Make sure you rename the old plugin folder first so that you don’t have an issue with it needing to be overwritten.

    Hope that helps!
