ParticipantI’ve consulted the forums and have found a lot of other people are also having problems with Google errors showing up in Webmaster Tools. I’ve tried every fix I can think of, from editing my robots.txt file, adding 301 redirects, editing calendar settings, adding theist SEO plugin and telling it to not crawl my calendar or add calendar events to the XML sitemap – you name it. But these errors persist and I’m getting bummed out.
Currently I’ve got about 100 errors, and they are all like this:
URL: http://kcpetproject.org/events/1837-07/
Error details:
Linked from:
http://kcpetproject.org/events/1837-06/Last crawled: 5/17/15
First detected: 5/17/15The target URL doesn’t exist, but your server is not returning a 404 (file not found) error. Learn more
Your server returns a code other than 404 or 410 for a non-existent page (or redirecting users to another page, such as the homepage, instead of returning a 404). This creates a poor experience for searchers and search engines.I have no idea why I even have a page coming up for “Events for July 1837”!!!
http://kcpetproject.org/events/1837-07/Please help me get it taken care of once and for all, as I use this plugin for a lot of my sites. Thank you!

MemberHi,
Sorry for the issues you are having. I can help out here.
In the 3.10 release we have a fix for many of these soft 404s.
In the meantime, however, you can download this patch and install it as a plugin until it is officially released.
Upload that like a regular plugin and activate it.
Please give that a shot and let me know if that helps out.
Cheers!

ParticipantThank you, I tried installing the plugin but got this error:
Installing Plugin from uploaded file: no-event-404s.php
Unpacking the package…The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature
Return to Plugins page
Do you know when 3.10 will be coming out? I have multiple sites using your plugin so I want to know if I should upload the patch to all of them or not. Thanks!

MemberHow strange I did not get that error.
Are you able to unzip on your computer and ftp it to the plugin directory?
Another option is the Event Rocket Plugin an unofficial plugin maintained by some of our developers that has this coding in it:
3.10 is a couple weeks away at best, but with any development there can be delays so I do not have an exact date.

ParticipantThank you, I was able to FTP it and it installed. Do I need to do anything else to configure it our anything?

MemberHi,
Yep just upload and active and the coding starts working. There are no settings.
Thanks
