I am suffering a very slow admin panel which I believe is linked to events Calendar trying to connect to validate my licence keys. I note that http://tri.be/license-keys/ is not available either.

    Can you please advise.

    Hi,

Sorry for the issues. I can help out.

To get some information about the issue can you please try downloading this simple plugin called Validate URL:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/nyugz86o4401ayg/validate-url-.7.zip?dl=0

After Activating go to Tools > Validate URL

    Enter in these two urls:

    https://theeventscalendar.com

    https://tri.be/

As well as these two IP addresses:

    https://162.243.159.176

    https://50.116.28.27

And let me know the response code you get.

If none of those are able to connect it means the site is blocked from accessing our servers and you would have to whitelist those ip addresses or check the connection if no sites are accessible such as https://google.com from the validator url check.

Let me know what you find out.

    Thanks

Ok if you are able to connect to the two urls then the IP addresses do not matter. Those are what validates the license.

I think it maybe the url to the news feed is causing the issue. I have seen this once before, but it is rare.

I do not have a fix for it, but we are releasing a beta for 3.10 that fixes that link. We are looking to release that in the next couple of days.

Let me know if you think you would like to try it or we can look into trying something else.

    Thanks

I can now access the links direct too, which I wasn’t able to before. Response times from the admin panel are now reduced from 90 seconds to around 10 seconds. Still quite laggy compared with other Worpdress installations with have with Woocommerce installed. Would be happy for you to look further and investigate.

    Thanks

Ok glad it is working a bit better.

To get more information about the slow queries can you run the Query Monitor Plugin:

Query Monitor – The developer tools panel for WordPress

That shows in the admin bar what is running on the page and gives messages about what is running slow. That may help narrow this down.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Sorry for the issues. I am not getting reports of this on other sites. So not sure of the source on your site.

I tested on my site and that update is not running on my site on every page load so there is some issue here to find.

Are you able to validate your license keys now?

We made a change to the server to help that I was not sure if that worked or not for you.

If the license is validated can you try deactivating and then reactivating all the Event Plugins. This will not delete or change settings.

I know that sounds simple, but it might clear this out of the system.

Let me know and we can go from here.
