ParticipantI am having problems viewing the previous day once the calendar changes from one day to the next. I know there is a current bug with the time issue but if there is a solution to help this problem by all means please let me know. At the moment, I can only view the current day of events and unfortunately the calendar changes hours before the cut off date is set.

MemberHey accessrose. Thanks for the original point you posted here, and the follow-up you noted in your private message. To address the private message right off the bat: we are definitely aware there are some loading issues on the calendar view, related to how the MySQL queries are handled. We’ve tweaked this a bit for the impending maintenance release and you should find it a much smoother process as a result. Definitely let us know if you find the slowness persists even after the update though.
Regarding the original issue: when I visited your site just now, I saw today’s events listed when I used the datepicker to select 8/20. When I hit the Previous link, it bumped me back (loading as it should) to http://www.nyclout.com/events/2013-08-19/.
Wondering if my experience differs from yours because of something you wrote: “I can only view the current day of events and unfortunately the calendar changes hours before the cut off date is set.” Do I have to view it at a specific time of the day to catch this in action?

ParticipantIs your setting for the time correct in WordPress -> General. Seems to me like maybe you didn’t change the timezone from GMT 0 (london) to GMT -5 (New York)?

ParticipantThe settings in fact ARE set to GMT -5 (New York) and I am STILL having the same problem. I mentioned this in the thread earlier. The events change EVERYDAY at 8pm to the next day and I have it set for 7am in The Events Plugin settings.

MemberOK, thanks – apologies also for the time it’s taken to progress this – however we’ll monitor this problem this evening and see if that reveals any useful information then take things from there.
If you could avoid changing any of the settings mentioned in your last post that would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your patience!

ParticipantNP. I haven’t changed anything since and will continue to leave it the same until this is fixed.

Member… If you visit the Settings > General admin screen and look at the timezone setting you should see a piece of text next to it reading something like:
UTC time is 2013-09-04 0:30:00 Local time is 2013-09-04 16:30:00
Can you confirm if the local time displayed in this message seems accurate to you when you visit this page?

MemberThanks accessrose: can you try switching from a name-based timezone (“New York”) to the equivalent offset based setting (“UTC-5”) – though this means you need to manually handle daylight saving time it may produce the result we want here.

ParticipantI tried this before and not sure if it worked but i’ll try it again.
