Single, Featured Event Shortcode or Widget

Hi EC,

Is there not a way to use a Widget or Shortcode to display a single, featured event displaying the events featured image, date and venue, that then clicks through to that events main Events page?

I’ve attached a simple mockup of what I’m talking about.

I’ve extensively researched the Widgets and Shortcodes available, but haven’t found this. It seems like this should exist.

Hi Kathleen

The best work around I could offer you is to use some filters in a widget. Widgets don’t have a way (yet) to filter for featured events only. However, if you add that as a tag, you could display only the events with that tag, and limit it to 1 event exclusively.
