Bear with me, because the titles/terminology might get a little confusing:

Working on our dev site, which is the one linked, I have already successfully added a post-type (meta field?) to the backend in the same vein as the out-of-the-box Organizers post type / meta section (see second screenshot). The post-type call (forgive my terminology) is “organizers”

How do I have it display within the meta section we currently have displaying as a sidebar on single event pages (see first screenshot)? Here is the post in the second screenshot: https://dev.cfany.org/event/climate-change-is-a-given-how-to-drive-value-and-manage-risk/

    For (hopefully) some clarity:

For our events, we have both speakers and organizers that need to be listed, and bios stored and maintained for each. Currently, I have just changed the post type to “Speakers | Organizers” so that everything can fall under that umbrella.

Ultimately, however, I would like to separate the two and have them listed as:

    Speakers
    Jon Doe 1
    Jon Doe 2

    Organizers
    Jane Doe 1
    Jane Doe 2

If there is a better way to achieve this, rather than having two separate post types, I’m open to that idea as well.

Going a step further, for another alternative, is it possible to have all Speakers | Organizers housed under the current “Speakers | Organizers” post type I have now, while being able to select from that same dataset (or set or Speakers | Organizer posts) which meta header they will appear from? More succinctly, could I have the same dropdown of Speakers | Organizers listed twice on the backend, but under different sections—i.e. one for the Speakers header and one for an Organizers header?

    Hi Cliff,

I appreciate that, but I have already successfully added the custom post type (“Organizers”) to the backend of The Events Calendar (see screenshot).

I have not been able to get the new “Organizers” post type content to show up in the sidebar with the rest of the event meta (screenshot attached). How do I go about accomplishing that?

If you’re using Avada theme, they’re likely already leveraging our Themer’s Guide. You might need to override their overrides of our template files.

Alternatively, you might be able to leverage one of our or their action hooks.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide such in-depth customization help, per our Scope of Support / Terms.

If there’s a code snippet you’d like me to put some eyes on or something else I can help you with, please update this ticket or create a new ticket if it’s a separate issue.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

If you need some coding help, you may want to ask your developer or reference our documentation and list of known customizers.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
