At the moment we have 12k items and site takes ages to load and performs badly. If the events calendar plugin is turned off, then everything is working perfectly fine. Are those 12k recurring events instances created by you or were they created by mistake or by a possible bug in our product? Those recurring instances come from multiple events? Do you recall how many different events you have in the site aprox?
