Amy
ParticipantRecently purchased Community Events. I’ve noticed that on the community submit form, the venue “Show Google Map” and “Show Google Maps Link” checkboxes are not checked by default, as they are in the admin based upon my settings. And, when I check the box(es) upon submitting the community form, the values are not stored, and I have to edit the event in the admin to get the setting to save. Any thoughts?
Supporting info:
1. I did override some CSS because my theme isn’t compatible with The Events Calendar by default.
2. I have not tried deactivating plugins just yet. Please let me know if you think a plugin could cause a value in the form to not be saved. I did try reverting to the WordPress Twenty Sixteen theme.February 8, 2017 at 6:31 pm #1231817Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Amy and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this glitch in the Community Events plugin.
We are actively working on a fix for this.Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date for a fix at this point, but you will be contacted as soon as there is one.
In the meantime, it is not a great workaround, but some of our customers appreciate using the following snippet in their theme’s functions.php https://gist.github.com/elimn/4cbdbf600e4d25842a824147b2e56e5e
What this snippet does is to ignore the settings and always display Google Maps (if any).
Thank you for your patience as we see this through.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantWow, I’m two for two. I’m fairly disappointed that right out of the “box”, at least two separate features of this paid product don’t work. I will add your suggestion to functions.php.

MemberGood evening Amy,
Thank you for writing back.
I totally understand how this can be very frustrating.
As you can guess, this was absolutely unintended on our end. Please know that we take any of our features not functioning properly very seriously.
Simply put, we hate bugs too.For that reason, we are actively working on a fix for it with the hopes of solving this issue as fast as possible.
I would like to extend my apologies about the trouble caused by this once again.
I absolutely understand my proposed workaround is far from great, but I do believe it might helpful to you until this bug is quashed.
Thank you once again for your patience.
Best regards,
Geoff B.
