GuestSo somewhere in the forum the question came up, how to setup a ticketing into the theme backup. If i run a theme and use a site with certain content (event details) and want to integrate the ticket info – or a link to buy the ticket. Is there no shortcode like eventbrite and if not, how to use a link and where is the workflow described?
The whole thing is getting unclear how to use the plugins into a theme. The Showcase is not really helpful, and i did not find a well designed and clear workflow as an example….
P.S. the answeres for my last questions here at presale forum did not help, wrong answere for my question or totaly confused…

ParticipantHey Peter,
At this time, neither Event Tickets nor Event Tickets Plus have shortcodes. Sorry to bear this news!
As for integrating features with a theme, all of these features happen with our plugin and a well-coded theme by default:
If i run a theme and use a site with certain content (event details) and want to integrate the ticket info – or a link to buy the ticket.
If you are trying to add custom content, or are trying to integrate with your theme in some way that it does not automatically do “out of the box,” then this a customization and so you would unfortunately have to handle the custom code-writing on your own.
Yyou would have to write that custom code or hire a professional developer to write the code for you. We have a list of great developers here → http://m.tri.be/18k1 (and have no affiliation with any of these folks–they’re simple some well-respected names in the community that we’ve compiled to share in situations like this one).
Thank you!

GuestSo what about connection with WooCommerce? It should be possible to link to a ticket, which is a product, when prepared with event ticket pro.
The follow up task for us is doormanagement, with the ticket bar or QR code. This workflow also is somehow unclear, as I found a forum discussion about missing checkin or incorrect functionality – Scan process practice….February 23, 2016 at 9:07 am #1080832George
ParticipantHey Peter,
Our ticketing plugins are indeed WooCommerce Extensions. They require WooCommerce to function.
You cannot link to one single ticket with no context at this time. The tickets are purchased through a simple ticket form on a post type, like an “event.” Users select how many tickets they would like; then click “Buy”, then are brought to checkout.
To alter this functionality, you would have to write a lot of custom code or hire someone to do in the same fashion I described earlier in this thread.
As for QR Codes, there have indeed been bugs in the past but they are now resolved. The QR codes work effectively. When you scan a QR Code, it simply “Checks in” the event attendee who shows the code. To learn more about what “checking in” means in general, I would recommend reading this knowledgebase article which covers our Attendee Management features in depth: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/managing-your-orders-and-attendees/
I hope that helps!
Sincerely,
GeorgeFebruary 23, 2016 at 3:02 pm #1081040peter
GuestThank you so far,
So I understand, why there is no realy nice looking Ticketing Website, because styling or fitting into a theme is not possible. All look like others and i did not found one solution, which does show all needed pieces to get things round. Nice frontend with multi-Event-possibilities, showing a single event with all data like venue, map, image gallery, speakers and registration…Regards,

ParticipantI’m sorry that you’re disappoint with the theme options out there, Peter 🙁 It can indeed be a frustrating process. I genuinely wish you the best of luck with this process regardless of whether you use our plugins or not!
Are there any further questions about The Events Calendar or our other plugins that I can try to help with here?
Thank you,
