shortcode output issue with Essential Grid

this shortcode in the essential grid plugin is not showing us the event time. It does fill in the post_id in the output on screen though.

[tribe_formatted_event_date id=’%post_id%’ timezone=’America/Chicago’ format=’F jS, Y @ g:i a’]

Event Calendar Pro shortcodes are displayed normally elsewhere.
