Shortcode? Form Field Editing abilities?

1) Is there really no shortcode for this extension?

2) Is there a way to remove certain fields (without css)?

Thanks for getting in touch!

Unfortunately, there is currently no shortcode built-in that is specific to our Community Events plugin.

You can customize the community submit form by using one of the methods described in our Themer’s Guide > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/.

We are limited in how much support we can give for custom development questions but we always like helping out, so let me know if you need help with anything in particular and I’ll be happy to at least point you in the right direction as best possible.

I noticed when making a new event and trying to add the location – I’m given a dropdown that reads ‘Create or Find a Venue’. However, the dropdown only gives me the option to choose a Venue previously entered. The option to create a new field seems to be missing. It seems like you can only add a venue by going to Events > Venues.

If the selection bar options are the same for the frontend form using your community events plugin, it seems a bit misleading when the user only has the option to select Vanues already entered : https://gyazo.com/a58b8a4d94598dd28e46260ec3f37259

Thanks for following up with this.

You should be able to create new venues in the community submission form. When typing a venue name that is not already created, an option to “create venue” will show up in the dropdown.

Could you please try creating a new venue and see if it works for you?

By going to wp-admin > Events > Settings > Community tab you will find the option to prevent users to create new Venues > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/community-events-settings/. Please make sure it’s unchecked to be able to create venues.
