    Hi Jason,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and sorry to hear about you issue widgets and shortcodes. I’ll help you out on this!

Checked out your site and I can see the mini calendar widget working fine on the home page. Can you point me to an URL where the issue is happening? With widgets or shortcodes are not working?

I see you marked this was tested with default theme and no other plugins active, Was the issue still present with that configuration? If you haven’t tested though please do so and let me know about the results.

Please let me know about my follow-ups,
    Best,
    Nico

    Hello,

Yes the calendar widget works just fine, the problem is with the shortcodes. I’ve added the shortcode [eventspot limit=”5″ /] to a page called Calendar Testing. The shortcode is bringing back there are “No active events”…which we can see from the calendar on the homepage that there are active events. Please click here to view the Calendar Testing page.

    Hey Jason,

Thanks for the follow-up! I must say I don’t recognize the ‘evenspot’ shortcode -googled it briefly and it seems to be another calendar solution(?). Please check this article out: PRO Widget Shortcodes, there you’ll find a list of available shortcodes and usage samples.

Please let me know about this,
    Best,
    Nico

So after looking at the link you provided me I found that the following short code is the one I need for my site, [tribe_events_list]. After installing it on my Calendar Testing page, you can see that is does not bring back any events, when I do have events on the main calendar page.

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for the follow-up! Sorry to hear that getting the shortcode right didn’t fix the problem ๐Ÿ™

Review our conversation so far I see this is still unanswered, so before continuing the troubleshooting on this I would like to discard any potential conflicts with the theme or other plugins, Can you confirm this please?

I see you marked this was tested with default theme and no other plugins active, Was the issue still present with that configuration? If you havenโ€™t tested though please do so and let me know about the results.

    Thanks a lot,
    Best,
    Nico

When I tested with a default theme this time, there was no issue. As I swicthed back to my theme I realized the page is displaying two errors. Have you guys seen these before?
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found): /js/functions.js?ver=2014-03-18

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘left’ of undefined: jquery.bxslider.js:1141

    Hey Jason,

Thanks for the follow-up once again! Glad to hear the shortcode is working under ‘default’ conditions ๐Ÿ™‚

So this looks like a conflict with the theme, so first of all lets try to get those errors right and see if that helps. They do not seem to be related with our product but I’ll try to help you on those anyway.

The 404 (file not found) error can have two main causes: the file doesn’t exist or the path used to include it is wrong, Can you check for that? Regarding the other error, maybe fixing the 404 get’s that right. If not you’ll probably have to contact theme developers about it.

Please let me know so we can continue working on this,
    Best,
    Nico
