    Hi here

We’re trying to export events using standard WP methods and running into following issues/problems:

    1) Date shifting, this happens only for recurring events. Its also seems to be effecting only one category, which is strange since there are no noticeable differences between categories.
    Here is a screenshot: http://i.piccy.info/i9/af7b0ad50e40846aed58ff4f7f418fb1/1386079812/14609/651912/day.png

    2) Significant portion of events are not being exported/imported at all. Below are old and the new sites, to note, the old one is running an older version of the plugin. Also, pleas note, new site has some newly added events but the problem is that some of the events ( from the old site) are just not showing up.

    Old: http://old.ontarioculinary.com/events/
    New: http://ontarioculinary.com/events/

    3) What would be the best way to merge newly added events and events from the old site? The key is not to loose any data in the process and not to have any duplicate events.

    Thank you in advance

When I add a farmers market, it appears one day before it should. See: https://ontarioculinary.com/event/farmers-markets-saturday/2014-01-04/

When I add a different recurring event, it appears twice: https://ontarioculinary.com/event/notl-icewine-festival/2014-01-03/

Now — something weird happens here. When I start at the main calendar and click here (as an example) and then hit ‘back’ on my browser, the main calendar that appears no longer has the doubles… but then a spinning grey loading widget appears, the calendar reloads and it’s doubled again.

I inputted a couple one off events, and they seem to appear fine. Right place, right time. No doubles.

Then I inputted one more festival, just to check. And it didn’t double itself, but it does appear one day earlier then it should, thursday – saturday rather than friday – sunday. See: https://ontarioculinary.com/event/niagara-icewine-festival/2014-01-24/

This event I entered: https://ontarioculinary.com/event/brick-works-hands-in-bowls/2014-01-25/ is recurring, only on saturdays and it appeared fine. No problems anywhere to be seen.

This event I just entered should be saturday and sunday, but appears twice on saturday instead: https://ontarioculinary.com/event/days-of-wine-chocolate/2014-02-02/

And then for good measure, i did one more. This one is every monday all year. It appears fine. https://ontarioculinary.com/event/86d-mondays/2014-04-14/

    Hi!

You’re covering a number of different issues and I’ll try to address each here, but if you need further help please do break them up into separate threads.

We’re trying to export events using standard WP methods and running into following issues/problems

I’m afraid we can’t guarantee success using the standard WordPress import/export tools. For some people it has worked, but there is certainly at least one bug still to be addressed which can result in issues when doing this.

With that said, I wouldn’t actually have expected the issue you are describing and wonder if that might actually be triggered by something else on the destination site. Can you confirm if the entry for that event in the exported XML file is correct, with respect to the event start date?

Significant portion of events are not being exported/imported at all.

Again, difficult for us to help with this. Do you know that all of the events are actually being exported (have you inspected the export data)? Conversely, if we’re talking about a large amount of data, is it possible you are hitting timeout issues when importing?

When I add a farmers market, it appears one day before it should. See: https://ontarioculinary.com/event/farmers-markets-saturday/2014-01-04/

Your site is loading very slowly and timing out – could be temporary – but it makes it hard for me to view the actual event and figure out what might be happening.

If it is an all day event this could be a known bug – depending on the end-of-day cut-off setting. However, let’s look at this in a separate thread to avoid confusion between issues.

Similarly so for the recurring event issue.

And on emore thing. Can You make so that the license key works on both sites

If you have a single site license you will need to clear it from the initial site and then re-enter it on the new site. Tools to manage license keys can be found here: https://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys/

    Thanks!

It’s been a while so I’ll go ahead and close this thread. Of course if you need further help for this or any other issue please do feel free to create a new thread or threads as needed. Thanks!
