Several questions: RSVP functionality, Event listing limits, Zip search

Hi, we’re looking at purchasing Events Calendar Pro.

One of my client’s requirements was to be able to RSVP to an event and I see that Event Tickets can do that. Do I need the Plus version of Event Tickets or will the free version be enough? They are not looking to sell tickets at this time, just an email RSVPing to the event.

Also, is there an upper limit on number of events that can be in the system?

Finally, are the listings searchable by zip code? The demo I’m looking at here http://wpshindig.com/events has a field for “Near” and says “Location” but its not clear whether that’s for a city, state, or zip. I entered a zip near my location and it just hung on the spinning icon.

Hi Dave. Thanks for your questions.

1. The Events Calendar PRO is an add-on for the core/free The Events Calendar plugin. Similarly, Event Tickets Plus is an add-on for the core/free Event Tickets plugin. Event Tickets enables RSVP functionality for any custom post type (but, of course, it works great with The Events Calendar). If you want to sell tickets (not free RSVPs) for one or more events, you’d want to buy the Plus version.
2. We’ve seen setups with thousands of events. Like anything else hypothetical, it’s expected that a site with 10,000 events would probably need more horsepower than a site with only 50 events (assuming the same number of users/hits).
3. Yup, zip code searches can work. For example, enter “66044” into the “Near” search and you should see the “Women in Tech Monthly Meeting” event in Lawrence, KS on the monthly calendar.
