setting event in "New York" time and Ical export not putting at right USER time

    Hi ya’ll – when I set up a new Event in “New York” time at 10:30 am, users in Central Time are exporting ical event and it’s showing up at 10:30 am. I am here in AZ and it should be 7:30 Am but its showing at 8:30 am

    Any suggestions what I am doing wrong?

    Hi there! Thanks for getting in touch–sorry to hear you’ve having issues here!

    It sounds like your problems may be related to Daylight Saving Time being applied incorrectly to events when exporting. I would try the following steps first:

    1. Under Settings > General in your WordPress admin, set your site time to the nearest listed major city in your time zone.
    2. Set the time zone for your events to the UTC time for your event (i.e. UTC-6 for Chicago).

    thanks for your reply Caroline – just wanted to let you know that I am not logged in as the WP Admin and still the meetings are off by one hour. I have tried setting time to UTC-5 and “New York” but still not showing up on user’s side. it can’t be WP Admin settings because the users aren’t in WP Admin … i made a meeting for 10:30 am UTC-5 and someone tries to add via Ical download but it shows on their calendar at 10:30 (they and their computer settings are Central Time). do i need to buy “pro”? will that help? do any of the events calendars have US time zones?

    Hi – i just noticed the meeting time comes across fine on my iphone – just messes up in windows.
