ParticipantHi,
I’m using the Community Events front-end submission form and would like it so that the “Organizer” field can be set to be the current logged-in WordPress user’s name.
Could you point me in the right direction please, perhaps suggest while file I need to edit?
Many thanks,
JamesSeptember 27, 2013 at 5:14 am #67965jwwalker
Participant* which file, not while file!

Participantjwwalker – I’m going to reach out to one of our developers to see if something like this is possible. Please stand by while they investigate further, and let me know if you have other questions in the mean time. Thanks!

Participantjwwalker,
Bad News: it looks like this isn’t possible in the current version of Community.Good news: this IS possible in the soon-to-released version of Community, which is just days away from being released.
When you’re finally update to the new version, you should be able to do this by performing a template override and making a few modifications:
Peform Template Override
- Create the following folder structure in your theme directory: ‘tribe-events->community->modules’
- Copy the following file into this new ‘modules’ directory: ‘/wp-content/themes/plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/views/modules/organizer.php’
Make Modifications
- Modify this new copy of organizer.php using the following instructions: https://gist.github.com/ckpicker/6729892
I’ll check back in with you after the plugin is released to confirm that you were able to get this working. Thanks!

ParticipantThanks for confirming that this got you sorted. Since it seems like you’ve got what you need, I’m going to mark this thread “Answered” and close it out.
We really appreciate your support and please let us know if you need anything else in the future. If you find yourself with a few minutes and would be so kind as to give us a “Works” rating or a positive star voting on the WordPress.org repo (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/the-events-calendar/), or even a shoutout to your followers on Facebook or Twitter, it would mean a lot to us. Thanks again for using the plugin.
