set custom field via function

Hi
I wish to programmatically set the value of a custom field within my events. My question – is there a function I can use to set the value of a custom field? My custom field is an integer which changes over time in response to events on the website ie form submissions on click.

This is technically possible but not something we’d provide the code solution for, per our Scope of Support / Terms.

I can try to help you think it through and point you in the right direction if you let me know where the form submission is / what exactly should trigger the custom field getting added/updated.
