set a default photo

I am looking for a way to set a default photo for all events that could be used. Or would it be possible for the default to be the photo used for the venue. both of these default options would need to be able to be replaced by an image for a particular event as we get them.

I want to use photo layout and have a photo for all events, but i am not quite there. I do have a lot of images for venue, and could have a default image come up for those events that dont have an image quite yet.

thanks for any info or where to set that up in development if its not a setting existing.
