ParticipantWe have been trying to put events onto our website with Events Calendar Pro and posting has been taking an age – most posts take at the very least 5 minutes to post and then sometimes it just gives up and gives us a message saying:
Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
________________________________________I’m not sure whether this is a wordpress/events calendar pro/server or hosting issue. Does anyone have any ideas? We are on version 3.9.3 of events calendar pro, we are using HYM theme and wordpress 4.1.2.

I’m sorry first of all to hear you’ve hit these problems.
Can you tell me how many events you’ve managed to input so far (if any) and what sort of events they were (for instance, were any long-running recurring events)?
Is there any further information you can provide about your web hosting package?

Thanks for taking the time to look at my post.
It used to work just fine, so we have loads of events on it (there are over 1000 events cause a few of them recur for a long time). Is this likely to be a problem? We thought it might be a problem, so tried to delete some events but it was taking ages to delete so we can’t do that either!
I don’t really have any other info on the web hosting, it’s done by a friend of mine so it’s not a big company or anything. What sort of info would be useful?

MemberWell, if this is occurring when you create or update recurring events specifically, it could simply be that the server is timing out due to the volume of data that has to be generated.
Does that fit with what you are experiencing (if so, a fix/improvement is in the works and should be available soon!) or are you also finding you hit the server temporarily unavailable error when editing and creating single, non-recurring events?
