Hey There. I am interested in having two completely separate calendars for different types of events. I know how to filter events on one calendar, but do not know how to create two separate calendars. Thanks!

Hi Charlie, separate calendars are already created by default for any event categories you have. For instance if you have a Conferences category you could go to: http://yoururl.com/events/category/conferences/ (substituting yoururl.com and events with your website URL and your events slug). To get others to that page just simply link to that category calendar page and you’re set. The WordPress custom menus make this really easy.

    Does that help?

    Hey Jonah,
Thanks for your reply. Specifically, I would like one calendar to populate 3 out of the 4 of my event categories, and a completely separate calendar for the other event category. Is that possible?

can you create an uber-category for the three you want on the same calendar, and use that category as your display category? Just post those three categories to two categories- the original one and the uber-category. That’s what I’d do.

    Hi Charlie,

Meghan’ solution may work – it’s worth a try, otherwise it’s a little more tricky to create separate calendars and certain things like the calendar prev/next and month/year drop downs won’t work correctly so it’s not really worth it unless you can do without that functionality.
