GuestI would like to use the events calendar for a website which will have a calendar of regular events and also a calendar for use as a “Planting Calendar”. The planting calendar and regular events can show on the full calendar together (each as its own category), but I want to be able to show one calendar with ONLY the “events” under the “planting” category. Is that possible? Will I need the PRO version or can I do this with the free version?

MemberHi – anything is possible 🙂
That said, out of the box you won’t be able to restrict the main calendar view to just a few specific categories without a small amount of customization work. However, you can easily workaround this with a little creativity – for instance, create a new parent category called Main Calendar and slot in some sub-categories (you can then link to month view for that specific category from your menu).
This is all possible with the free, core plugin – but more advanced stuff is certainly possible, particularly with our awesome Filter Bar plugin.
I hope that answers your questions but please let me know if we can help with anything else.

GuestI have a similar question. When I input new events, I’m given the option of the category, which would be similar to the 2nd calendar (dividing it by categories). I have labeled these as ‘2014’. The category is clickable on the event page, however when someone clicks on it, it yields no results. Is this normal? Do I need the Filter Bar plugin to make this work?
I eventually want to have ‘2015’ as a category, so then I can do a quick search for both. If this isn’t possible without going pro, is there a way to take out the category from the event? Otherwise, it lends the visitor to a dead link.

MemberHi!
We’re happy to help but please bear in mind this is the pre-sales forum. If you do not have a PRO license then the best place to seek help is our wordpress.org forums, otherwise you are more than welcome to post on the PRO forum.
Thanks!
