GuestHi there,
I am developing a shop website for a group of three tourist attractions and this plugin looks ideal to handle the ticketing aspect of things. The attractions often have single ticketed events, so I will be purchasing this plugin regardless. The main sticking point, however, is if the plugin can be adapted (or has the functionality) to offer a percentage discount, depending on how far in advance someone books their ticket.
The attractions are open all year round, so ‘early bird’ discounts for single events, which I believe the plugin already offers, would not be suitable. Ideally, I need to find a solution that displays a calendar of dates, starting from the current date, in which the user selects what day they would like to visit the attraction. The system will work out how many days in advance they are booking their ticket, work out the discount, then add it to the cart (with the date prominently displayed on the ticket). There are two tiers of discounts also. 10% for those booking between 2 and 6 days in advance, and 20% for those booking more than 7 days in advance.
What would I need to do with the plugin to make this happen? Is it something you can develop at an extra cost, or something you’d be willing to build into the current functionality of the system? Or is it not possible with the plugin?
Please let me know as soon as possible. The client wants this website delivering rather quickly, in time for the Easter tourism push.
Cheers,

MemberHi Stephen, thanks for considering our plugins 🙂
The main sticking point, however, is if the plugin can be adapted (or has the functionality) to offer a percentage discount, depending on how far in advance someone books their ticket.
Great question!
The short answer is no, this is not facilitated “out of the box”. However it may well be possible to build a custom solution (or else/as part of that leverage existing WooCommerce addons) that reference the time remaining until the purchased event as part of the criteria for a discount. I would stress though that at this time that isn’t something WooCommerce Tickets itself facilitates – though pretty much anything is possible and there are plenty of action and filter hooks to help build the solution you need.
Ideally, I need to find a solution that displays a calendar of dates, starting from the current date, in which the user selects what day they would like to visit the attraction …Â What would I need to do with the plugin to make this happen?
So again this is all possible – but you’d need solid WordPress development chops, or would need to engage a suitably skilled developer, to make the change. With that said, my hunch is a little creativity would go a long way and it could all be done cleanly and without resorting to “hacking” the plugin as such.
Is it something you can develop at an extra cost, or something you’d be willing to build into the current functionality of the system? Or is it not possible with the plugin?
We’re more than happy to consider any and all feature requests – however we generally wouldn’t take on a project of this scale and you would need to source a developer independently, if needed.
Thanks again for your questions: if we can help with anything else please don’t hesitate to let us know 🙂
