ParticipantHey Guys,
Having an issue with the calendar’s month view — when you choose Oct from the date dropdown it displays the month of September instead.
You can navigate to October’s events using the nav links under the calendar, and adding a query var of ?tribe-bar-date=2017-10 works as well you just can’t get to October from the date picker. Have also tried just the free version of The Events Calendar plugin on a fresh dev install and same thing happens.
Steps to reproduce:
1. View calendar in Month view
2. Click Date under “EVENTS IN” to bring up date picker
3. Select Oct in the year 2017January 12, 2017 at 2:57 pm #1217723Nico
MemberHi there Shane,
Thanks for getting in touch with us!
I was reviewing this in your site (http://newcastlebridge.org/events/) and couldn’t reproduce the issue → https://cloudup.com/cDXBkV_AgPw – I’ve also played around with this in my local install but wasn’t able to reproduce the issue there either.
Can you please let me know if I’m doing something different from your test?

ParticipantHi Nico,
Thanks for your reply.
Some more testing has found that it appears to be linked to the visitor’s computer’s timezone.
Setting your computer’s timezone to Sydney, Australia (UTC+10 / Currently UTC+11 for daylight savings) it will show September events when October is chosen. Setting the timezone to Pacific time stops the issue.
The same thing occurs for me on your own demo site at http://wpshindig.com/events/month/

MemberThanks for following-up Shane!
Interesting feedback, surely sounds like a bug. I will make some tests and get back to you soon!

MemberHey Shane,
Thanks for the patience while I confirmed this! It’s actually a new bug, that we weren’t aware of. Seems like the JS datepicker is somehow affected by the computer timezone.
While I don’t have a timeline for the fix to be out I’ve linked this thread to the bug report. This means that when the fix for it is out you’ll get a heads-up here.
Thanks once again for the report! I’ll set the thread status to ‘Pending Fix’ to prevent it from being closed due to low activity,

MemberHi there Shane,
Thanks for the patience so far! Hopefully this issue has been slated for next maintenance release. The thing is we cannot reproduce this anymore, it seems it has been solved by some other code change.
Can you please update the plugins and let me know if this is fixed for you as well? In case you are still seeing the issue can you please send the exact same instructions to test this you are using? Right now I’m changing my computer timezone to UTC-10 and then browsing the event page (month view) and switching to a different month.
Please let me know about this,
Best,

ParticipantHi Nico,
Thanks for the update.
The issue is very much still present on my client’s site using the latest versions of The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO. It is also still present on your own demo site http://wpshindig.com/events/
To reproduce:
1. Set computer’s time zone to UTC+10 (plus 10, not minus) or Sydney, Australia
2. Navigate to http://newcastlebridge.org/events/ or http://wpshindig.com/events/month/ or any site running The Events Calendar
4. Ensure calendar is set to Month view
3. Click “Date” under “Events in” to bring up the date picker and select Oct
4. The month of September will be displayed instead of OctoberIt only seems to happen when selecting OCT in the date picker in the bar at the top. Clicking to navigate to October using the links under the calendar will take you to october as expected and all other months appear to work fine.

MemberThanks for the updated instructions Shane! I was able to reproduce it now.
The curios find is I couldn’t reproduce this with UTC+10 Brisbane (which I tried yesterday), but I could with UTC+10 Sydney (today). I guess there might be a summer time change in effect.
Anyway thanks for the update, hope we can fix this very soon 🙂
I’ll keep you updated,

ParticipantI am running into this exact issue. I have tested on a completely blank wordpress install with only the TEC plugin installed. Selecting October 2017 in month view shows results for September 2017.
Was this issue ever addressed?

MemberHi there Sam,
Thanks for chiming in! I’m sorry to say this hasn’t been addressed yet. We could track the issue down to a vendor library we use. The problem seems to be solved in an update in the said library. The problem here is the update will require large QA efforts (as we use datepicker everywhere), this is the reason the fix has been delayed until it can be paired with other improvements on the area. This thread is related with the improvement ticket in our internal tracker, so when this is fixed you’ll get a heads-up here.
