We are looking to replace an events system we use with one which integrates with our wordpress site. I have been asked to reassure our decision makers that using your plugin would be a secure solution.

If we were to use a system which requires users to log in to our site in order to post events, can you outline any potential security risks?

The main concern that has been expressed is that users could gain access to the rest of the site and post spurious content. Can you please explain if this is possible and if so how to protect against it?

    many thanks

    James

Just to clarify, events would be submitted by members of the public, so we are talking about events calendar pro or community events plugins

    Hi,

No worries the thread was not closed.

Community Events has all the front end form submission features and has the ability to block people from the admin by WordPress Role. You can give people a low level role such as subscriber and they can submit events on the frontend and would not have capabilities in the backend to create any content. If you setup anonymous submissions anyone on the front end could submit events, but would have no access to the admin.

Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

    Thanks
