ParticipantI am using Event Tickets Plus with Events Calendar and WooCommerce and so far love it. Question is I cannot figure out why this ‘security code’ is on the receipt for the ticket. I can’t find anything related here on support as to why it’s there and what it’s even used for?
Does anyone know?

ParticipantHey Danielle,
QR Codes are added by default—they’re a core feature of our ticketing plugins. These codes can be scanned with a QR Code reader (tons of iPhone apps and Android apps for that, for example), which when scanned will “check in” the attendee.
It’s just an alternative method for checking-in attendees at the door…
You can read more about them on this Knowledgebase guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/managing-your-orders-and-attendees/
Please let me know if that helps and if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with!

ParticipantThank you. So the QR code and the security code are the same thing? I do see both QR and Security code. I’m assuming we don’t need to use this security code for anything at all as only the QR code is scanned- the security code is never input anywhere, etc.- it’s just a display thing it seems if it’s not being used

ParticipantSorry Danielle,
I misunderstood your question and thought you were referring to the QR code only…
The security code and QR code are NOT the same thing, necessarily.
It’s like this:
• Each ticket has its own unique security code, which we offer so that folks can manage tickets and check-ins on their own if they’d like. Some people like to email their attendees lists and print them out for example…and so with security codes, you can check someones ticket at the door and make sure it’s not a fake ticket by matching the security code and such…
• The QR Code is an automated way of checking in, as described above. It uses the security code, but when scanned will automatically “check-in” the person.
Does this help? 😀

ParticipantGot it. Yes. We were seeing these QR codes and security codes and could not figure out what they were. Ok, yes, thank you!
