Searching While Viewing A Category

We are sending users to a featured events category view with our main link to the calendar, the only downside that we notice is that if they go to search, it’s limited to results from that category. We don’t think most people will realize this is happening and will just think the non-category event they’re searching for doesn’t exist.

Is there any way we can enable full search while viewing a category?

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for your patience!

Unfortunately that feature is by design, so there is no simple way to do that out of the box.

I’ll check with our dev team though and see if there is a snippet that can reset the search query to include all events.

Will probably have to wait until Monday morning though, with a slight possibility that someone may reply this weekend.

Also, if you have a moment, we’d love for you to submit your idea to our UserVoice forum. We take user ideas and contributions very seriously, and many times their ideas end up in our future releases.

There is no action hook available for catching the search query yet, so it sounds like UserVoice is your best option for now.
