As you know, WordPress search does not work well for events.

The Events Calendar has its own search function (and we have the Filter Bar), but is there any way to add a search function in the main site menu or on non-event pages?

In case this matters the site is antoniosarmiento.ca / capitoltheatre.com (switching anytime now from dev to main) and the theme we are using is Avada.

    Thanks.

    Hello, Ken!

Thanks for using The Events Calendar! I can help you with this šŸ™‚

The Tribe Bar Search feature is designed to be used on events pages. It’s possible it could be engineered to work elsewhere but that’s getting into custom development territory.

As an alternative, I can recommend a couple of search plugins that work well for custom post types. The first is RelevanssiĀ https://wordpress.org/plugins/relevanssi/Ā and the second is SearchWPĀ https://searchwp.com/Ā I’ve used and highly recommend both.

Does this answer your question? Let me know how it goes!

    Cheers,
    Trisha
