ParticipantUsing the original WordPress search function (not the plugin one – doesn’t work!) if you search up for an event, it brings it up twice. Now before installing Events tickets plus you can see in the links that one is an “event” and one is a “product”. Once you install event tickets plus, both are “events”.
So i think it’s showing one for the plugin and one for Woocommerce. Of course I want it to only be shown once. Is this possible?
I’m using a custom theme with my own search.php file showing the results (all it’s doing is echoing out the titles of results).
Thanks in advance for the help.

ParticipantHey @James,
Sorry to hear about this! I cannot recreate this behavior on my own site, so there are a few things that stand out as potential culprits here.
First, you say this:
Using the original WordPress search function (not the plugin one – doesn’t work!)
1. Can you clarify how the plugin’s own search features “don’t work”? This is alarming and could indicate a deeper code conflict that should be resolved, as it may be related to this other problem.
2. You say, “I’m using a custom theme with my own search.php file showing the results (all it’s doing is echoing out the titles of results).” Can you please share a link to a page on your site where I can do a search to see this duplication issue firsthand?
3. Can you also post your site’s “System Information” to help with the investigation of this issue? Here’s how to share that info ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
All of the above information will give us a great start on figuring out the problems here—thank you!
George

ParticipantSorry for the late response, below are answers to your questions…
1. The date function works and you type in the name of the event ok but nothing happens when you click the “Find Events” button. It just gets a blue outline like a “button” does (have checked and its definitely an input with submit as the type”) when you click it.
2. I have since removed the WordPress search function, and my website uses an offline mode plugin to keep it off until it’s ready.
3. Latest WordPress and Woocommerce, free calendar plugin and tickets plus (paid version)

ParticipantJust had a thought – would it be possible to filter the WordPress (WordPress default search widget) search function on my search.php to search for only the event taxonomy? How would I go about doing this please? (Or even on a different file?)
Would be nice if the search could involve a venue field as well as the date and normal field. Thanks in advance.

ParticipantHey James,
Filtering the search results—or adding extra fields—is possible, but only by writing custom code. We unfortunately cannot help with custom coding here. Please read this page for more on that ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/what-support-is-provided-for-license-holders/
Next, in regards to the original issues you’re facing:
1. Can you share a link to your events page so that I can see the issue with the “Find Events” button not working firsthand?
2. Can you please post your complete, un-edited system information? Here’s how ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/ I know you shared some details in your last reply, but the steps above generate a full, detailed profile of your site that is crucial for us to be able to provide further support here.
If you are concerned about having such information online, please take advantage of the “set as private reply” checkbox below the reply form before submitting your thread replies—this will keep the reply content private, and visible only to you and our support team.
