Search / Filter by Month (and Date Range)

Hi All,

I’m trying to solve for a rather basic problem.

I’m using the MAP view for my events and need to know how users can search for events by either a given month or a range of dates. (ie. they select a date range, say 7/1/2018- 9/15/2018)

This should filter the map and list to events that fit those criteria.

I figured that this would be included with the Filter Bar Plugin but it seems there isn’t any default functionality for this.

I enabled month view (which I wasn’t planning on using) and see that the Month Filter works in this view.

Essentially what I would like is for the Date Picker in the Map View to be replaced with the “Events in” (month picker) as shown in the Month View.

Is there a way to change this easily? (I’m perfectly fine with modifying PHP code, just am very junior with writing any myself)

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Just to let you know, we are limited by our Support Policy in how much we can help with customizations, but I will try to point you in the right direction.

I’d recommend starting off by taking a look at our Themer’s Guide, which can show you which templates can be edited and copied in order to achieve the results that you are looking for.

You’ll want to use the code for the date picker in the month view and copy that into a copy of the Map View template into your theme.
