ParticipantFew different things…
1. Searching by location is returning zero results even though have multiple events
2. When filter by map as default its showing US as default
3. Using search bar when I try search by dayI want to create a menu to go to…
a. Todays Events
b. This Week
c. NYEWhat I have done is created categories and place appropriate events into these categories. Problem arise when I use search bar in these categories so for example when I go to “this week” and then search for a date in December it returns zero results since they aren’t in the category.
Is there a smarter way to do this?

KeymasterHello there,
Thanks for reaching out! I’d be happy to help you with your questions.
1. Searching by location is returning zero results even though have multiple events
Can you give me an example search and a url where it’s not working?
2. When filter by map as default its showing US as default
What do you exactly mean “filter by map”? Are you referring to the map view?
I want to create a menu to go to…
a. Todays EventsUse a url like this:
https://domain.com/events/today/b. This Week
https://domain.com/events/week/c. NYE
https://domain.com/events/2017-12-31/What I have done is created categories and place appropriate events into these categories. Problem arise when I use search bar in these categories so for example when I go to “this week” and then search for a date in December it returns zero results since they aren’t in the category.
Is there a smarter way to do this?
Not sure, this is expected behavior. When you are looking at a category and run any search, the search will include that category. This might be offset with a snippet, but then you would likely have issue filtering for a category within a search.
Let me know if the above helps.

ParticipantSorry never realised I got a response. Okay want to have buttons on homepage to send to specific events which are displayed as photo.
What I was originally doing was creating categories for this week, next week, December. Then when using search bar it was only searching within those categories. Not doing that now using the below filters.
A. This Week: Using http://domain/whatson/week/ as suggested but showing in week format, is it possible to display in photo?
B. Next Week: Have no solution for this at the moment, would ideally be dynamic so not changing url.
C. December: Using http://domain/whatson/2017-12/ is it possible to display in photo?
D. NYE: Using http://domain/whatson/photo/?tribe-bar-date=2017-12-31
For the search bar is it possible to search by categories/venues/organisers instead of keywords?

KeymasterHi and welcome back,
Not sure I fully understand now what you are trying to achieve, sorry. 🙂 Can you give me the full picture from zero?
Here are the answers to the best of my knowledge:
If you go to photo view, then it will show you the upcoming events. The number of events is determined by your setting under Events > Settings > General tab > Number of events to show per page.
You can determine the starting date with a URL like this: http://domain.com/events/photo/?tribe-bar-date=2017-12-04
If you want to create a custom query for the photo view, then this article will be a good starting point:

For the search bar is it possible to search by categories/venues/organisers instead of keywords?
That is not possible, at least not without major customization work.
Our Filter Bar add-on can do that however. Check it out.
