ParticipantHi there,
this is meant to be the continuation of this thread:
Two Questions – script error in event editor / no images in mobile month view
I was finally able to test the issue on a test WordPress-Page on the same server, Barry asked me to do this:
“Install nothing except The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO, create some events and see if the same problem occurs there, too.”The same problem didn’t occur this way but is still occurring on the main page.
One more thing I found in the error log is this – it looks as if the events calendar is trying configure itself every few seconds!
(Tribe events wird eingerichtet = is being configured/installed)“[Wed May 31 18:07:54 2017] [notice] [client 208.43.225.84:44104] the-events-calendar/common – Log: Tribe Events wird eingerichtet f\xc3\xbcr May, 31st at 04:05:54 pm

Best regards

KeymasterHello Joachim,
Thanks for getting back to us on the topic.
Regarding the error log, that’s nothing to worry about. It is just a log entry indicating successful initialization, which happens with every request. It’s not an indication of anything being wrong.
Good to hear that the script freezing doesn’t happen on the test site. This indicates that there is something on the live site, which is causing the freeze issue.
I saw in the other thread that you went through a full conflict test, deactivating all and switching to twe12, and that didn’t change anything.
Does this script freeze happen when you try to add a new event? When you edit a single event? Or when you edit a recurring event? If recurring event, was it created in the past with an earlier version of our plugins? Does it happen with newly created recurring events?
The same problem didn’t occur this way but is still occurring on the main page.
What are you exactly referring to here? I didn’t manage to find anything in the other thread related to this. Thanks for clarifying.
Cheers,

It doesn’t happen when creating a new event.
Almost all events are recurring; I was able to find a single event and a “younger” recurring event –
both were error-free, so it really seems to happen mostly with longer existing recurring events. Is there a possible fix?

Nevermind, I was not expressing myself clearly; I meant to say the error didn’t happen on the test-site.
Thanks and cheers,

KeymasterHello again,
Thanks for checking that and sharing it with me.
We are aware of this bug. A short while back (in version 4.4) we did some work on how recurring events are handled. Unfortunately not all of the recurrence rules are ported over in the correct manner. Likely this is the bug that is affecting you as well.
The current workaround would be recreating those recurring events. With some manual work it is possible to clean up the database so you have the parent events, but you will need to set up the recurrence rules for all of them from scratch.
As for a full fix, we already have a bugticket in place with high priority and a developer assigned to it. If all goes according to plan, then a fix should be released with the next maintenance release. Please bear with us.
