ParticipantI have The Events Calendar 4.6.4 / The Events Calendar Pro 4.4.19 / Events Tickets 4.6 / Events Ticket plus 4.6 / WooCommerce 3.2.3 plug ins installed.
New events with added tickets work – will create. Once created I cannot amend them when a ticket is added or amended. It says ‘your ticket has been saved’ Clicking the events update button causes the pie to revolve and this happens until the page times out either going blank with the URL of: https://live-dev.nowbaby.co.uk/wp-admin/post.php or giving the following message 504 Gateway Time-Out
It will update if I go in and then amend text or non ticket dropdowns. I have copied the multisite site involved to a seperate site and this still happens. I have deleted the events and tickets from this copied site and tried again. I have tried conflict testing. The same happens. It is running under WordPress 4.9 Avada 4.0.1 PHP 5.6
The Plugins all run under https://www.nowbabylive.co.uk The multisite is based on the nowbaby.co.uk web server.
Help, it is stopping me from setting up Courses (Events) and Tickets.
Thanks
Bill

KeymasterHello Bill,
Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums!
Thanks for reporting that! I will try to help you get to the bottom of this. For that I need some more details.
Do I understand correctly that we are talking about a recurring event in this case?
I tried to recreate this, and so far I haven’t encountered any issues. This is what I did:
- add new event
- fill in title
- add a ticket and save ticket
- publish event => successful
- add another ticket and save ticket
- edit the other ticket, change a setting, save ticket
- update event = > successful
- add recurrence rule to the event (weekly, stop after 5 times)
- update event = > successful
- add 3rd ticket, save ticket
- edit another ticket and save ticket
- update event = > successful. This took some time, but finished successfully
Is there anything that you are doing differently than the above? I take it your process doesn’t cover all of that. That was only to test a number of different scenarios.
A hunch I have is that the max_execution_time=30 in your php settings is low, as the updating of the event would need a bit more time, thus it times out. Try to increase that setting. If you don’t know how / where you can do that your hosting provider will be able to help.
You also said you did conflict testing. Did that include switching to a default theme? I’m sorry, this wasn’t clear from your post.
Looking forward to helping you solve this.

ParticipantHi,
Tried all your suggestions. I got as far as the:-
add new event
fill in title
add a ticket and save ticket
save event and …Then it just timed out. I upped the max_execution tie to 500 and it still timed out. If I created the ticket and then went to the events list the ticket was being shown as an event???
I am using 4.9 I notice on the plugins page in WP that it says that your plugins havenβt been tested with 4.9.
Any further suggestions?
Many thanks for your time and attention.

ParticipantHi,
Well, even though I had deactivated the plugin ‘Post Type Switcher’ by John James Jacoby version 3.0.0 it was still there and active. It appears that the Network Activation on some plugins are over ridden by local activation and vice versa.
I finally deleted this plugin completely via filezilla and refreshed my cache and the problem went away.
Appreciate your help. WordPress is a great dynamic platform but it can be a nightmare.
Can you add to the wish list the capability of being able to add an existing ticket to an event. I know there is a php function that allows this to be done, but I’d rather not use a coded solution though.
This scenario is difficult t reproduce:-
Course event with attendee questions
Class 1 event with seperate ticket
Class 2 event with seperate ticket
Class 3 event with seperate ticketSo a person can book a course or a seperate class, with only one attendee set of questions either way. Naturally booking a course gives you a discount π
However thats another day…
Cheers

KeymasterHey Bill,
I’m happy to hear you managed to find the source of the issue. Great job!
WordPress is a great dynamic platform but it can be a nightmare.
You can say that out loud. π And having a backup is always a good idea.
As for the wishlist, if you would like to see that as a feature of our plugin, I encourage you to visit our UserVoice page where we collect ideas and votes for those. If we see an idea is really popular, then we will consider adding it as a feature. I think this one covers your idea, but if not, or you don’t find any like that, then feel free to suggest a new idea with details.
Since this is resolved I am going to close this ticket, but if you need anything else related to this topic or another please create a new ticket and we’ll be happy to help.
Cheers,
AndrasPS: If you like our plugins, and you didn’t yet do so π we would be happy to receive a review in the wordpress.org repository. Thanks!
