ParticipantHello,
I am doing some events more then one time, but it’s not something like weekly, monthly … which I have seen has an easy setup inside the plugin. The events would be on 15th and 19th of january and then again on the 3rd of march for example.
Now I wonder how to handle these events, which have the same texts and even images, in terms of double content for the search engines, and how I would handle the URL-settings best.
For example If the URL is called mydomain.com/my-great-event … do I have to think of a new domain each and every time like /my-great-event, /my-best-event and so on?
Is there any function to copy events so I only have to change the date?
And how can I be on the safe side with SEO, because the search engines don’t like double content?Thank you for your help!

ParticipantHowdy Birgit,
Good question. I would love to help you with this.
Currently the best way to do this is to use a post duplicator and copy the event, then change it to the next date in teh series.
We do have a feature request to support truly arbitrary recurrences, but it has not got a lot of votes yet. If that is something you would like to see us build please vote on it (click here).
Does that all make sense? Will that work for you? Please let me know.
Cheers!

ParticipantHello Brook, thank you for your answer and sorry for the late response … chrismas … new year …
However, duplicating the events (I already have a plugin that does this step) is ok for me but what about double content with google?

ParticipantIn order to be 100% sure Google understands which is the original you can use a third party plugin to add a canonical meta tag. Otherwise you’ll just have to rely on Google to guess which is the original, and it does a pretty good job. Unless Google’s Webmaster Tools is saying your site is flagged as duplicate content, I wouldn’t worry about it though. Typically not a huge deal.
That answer your question?
Cheers!

ParticipantYou’re welcome! Thanks for voting on that feature as well. It is already gaining traction and its only a couple of weeks old. That’s good for us to know. 🙂
Cheers!
