ParticipantGreetings,
Events Calendar PRO allows the creation of multiple recurring events where the event occurs on the same day, for example, every Wednesday at 10am-11am and also every Wednesday from 1pm-2pm, but I’m unable to view the second instance of those events in some cases(?)
https://www.tadl.org/event/preschool-story-hour-10/2017-03-01/
https://www.tadl.org/event/preschool-story-hour-10/2017-03-01/2/
If you look at https://www.tadl.org/events/2017-03/ you’ll see those two events on March 1st, but clicking the 1pm occurrence results in a 404, as above.
Is this still fragile/not recommended? I just launched this site and then noticed this issue. Oops.
In searching through this forum, I see there are some issues with recurring events that had been migrated from an older version to a newer version. Is this what I’m running into? I tried re-saving the event, but same issue happens. I suppose I could delete and recreate, but that seems drastic.
Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

ParticipantI actually just looked and there’s another one of these tomorrow at KBL – wigglers storytime at 9:45 and 10:45, but they both link to the same event (the 9:45 one)
This is so weird.

ModeratorHi and welcome back,
Sorry to see you’re having troubles with recurring events. Would you mind selecting ‘Edit Series’ for the following event and sending a screenshot of the ‘Time & Date‘ section: https://www.tadl.org/event/preschool-story-hour-10/2017-03-01/
I’ll go ahead and see if I can reproduce the behavior and compare my findings along what you’ve shared with me to our logged bug reports. Thanks and have a great rest of your day!

ModeratorThank you π
The screenshot you shared with me doesn’t appear to be a recurring event that has 2 different events on the same day. Can you track down an event that fits this description and send a screenshot of the ‘Time & Date’ section?
Can you test again on your live site, but
please make sure WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG are enabled on your site’s wp-config.php file. Any errors will display at the top of your page as you try to reproduce the conflict. I also recommend right-clicking your mouse and opening the βInspectβ tool to see if any errors display in the console. Note what you find and please include it in your reply. It would also be helpful if you could create a fresh WordPress site with only The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO installed/activated and see if you’re able to reproduce the issue. Make sure you have WP_DEBUG set to true and have the browser console open to see if any errors display and share anything you find with me.
Once I have that information, I’ll have much more to compare to the logged notes to see if your issues are relative to any logged bugs or if we’ve uncovered another one. Thanks and have a great evening π

ParticipantIt does actually have 2 instances of the same event on the same day. That’s what I was saying. Two occurrences of the event on Wednesdays at 2 different times on that same day.
Nevermind, I’m just going to tell people not to do that. I’m not sure where you got “two different events on the same day” from? I specifically said “recurring events where the event occurs on the same day, for example, every Wednesday at 10am-11am and also every Wednesday from 1pm-2pm” and that is exactly what the screenshot shows. The first one is okay, but the second one either 404s or links to the first one.
Doesn’t matter, I’ll change the workflow and we’ll just have two event objects with weekly recurrence rules for the story time events.
Thanks.

ModeratorHi and welcome back,
I apologize I misunderstood what you meant, it’s sometimes easy to get confused without being able to elaborate as you would in person or over the phone, for example. After going over the screenshot for a second time I do see you’re correct (I was WAY off!), so again I apologize for any frustration I might have caused on your end.
I double-checked to see if I was getting 404 errors when attempting to visit the second event taking place on any date containing two events but everything appears to be working correctly for me. Please take a minute and check out this screencast I made going over my findings.
There are some open bug reports relative to recurring events, but there doesn’t appear to match anything you’re experiencing at this time. This doesn’t mean there is not a bug affecting your site, it simply means I’d need more information from you in order to log a full report.
If you’re still interested in troubleshooting the matter, follow the instructions as explained in my last response and let me know what you find through WP_DEBUG and the browser error console. Thanks again and have a great day.

MemberHi,
Just wanted to share with you that maintenance release 4.4.6 of our plugins is out, including a fix for this issue ?
There are still some issues when using the βOnceβ option for multiple events in the same day due to a different bug. For overlapping events generated by weekly / monthly / yearly patters the provided solution in this release should work!
Find out more about the release β https://theeventscalendar.com/maintenance-release-events-calendar-pro-4-4-6-event-tickets-4-4-6-premium-add-ons/
Please update the plugins and let us know if the fix works for your site,
Best,
