ParticipantHey – I’ve setup RSVP with Event Tickets. Words great. I can’t find where to edit the email from details? Currently it just says wordpress.. And can I edit the email content at all?
Also, wondering if I’d be better just using Registrations – I simply need to enable people to register for a free trial class.
Please advise.
Thank youJuly 16, 2018 at 8:57 am #1576236Sky
KeymasterHi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I will try to help with your questions.
It is possible to edit the “from” address in the emails that get sent out, but it requires a short code snippet. You can add the following to your child theme’s functions.php file or to a functionality plugin.
https://gist.github.com/skyshab/6a3e0bd6bb46ddb2556560fb8fe6ddf6
Just adjust the information in the snippet to match your needs.
It is possible to customize other parts of the email by creating a custom template. You would need to copy the email.php file from /wp-content/plugins/event-tickets/src/views/tickets/email.php to [your-theme]/tribe-events/tickets/email.php and then make your modifications.
Can you explain what you mean by “wondering if I’d be better just using Registrations?” Is this another plugin you are considering?
Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,

ParticipantThanks for this. I will try the code out.
My alternative was ‘Registrations for The Events Calendar’ plugin by Roundup WP
Any advice appreciated. I just require a simple option for people to register for a trial class. No need to login. Just for both the enquirer and the owner to be notified by email of their attendance. I’d also like to customise the email.
ThanksJuly 18, 2018 at 8:18 am #1578056Sky
KeymasterHi again,
I’m not familiar with that plugin, so can’t give any advice on it. While it appears to work with our Events Calendar plugin, it is not one of our plugins.
There are options in the Events Tickets plugin that allow you to require users to log in before RSVPing or not. Customizing the email that gets sent out is possible using the instructions I provided above. For more information on customizing Event Calendar plugin templates, check out our Themer’s Guide.
There is also a way to add more recipients to the email that gets sent out. Check out the following snippet to see how to accomplish this.
https://gist.github.com/skyshab/27ab9a828bcf41a597a46c66aeff376f
You would just add that to your functions.php or a functionality plugin.
Hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions about this.
Thanks,
