I did find a thread about this very issue, but it’s marked as private. We’re having this issue where attendees’ info (name, address, phone, email, etc) is pre-populated with the info of the last attendee we registered. Twice, we registered the same person twice because of this. We now know to clear all those text boxes and type the new info over it, but that shouldn’t be happening, and it seems like a privacy issue as well. Any help?

    Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with the ticket forms. I will try to help you get this sorted.

First, do you have a link to the other thread you saw regarding this?

Next, is there a particular event that this is happening on where I could try to see this in action?

Also, to clarify, users on completely different computers were able to see other users information in the field when they tried to RSVP? Or was this from multiple people trying to RSVP from the same computer?

    Thanks,
    Sky

    Hi Sky

So we actually learned that when our staff is logged-in and we need to manually register someone for a program, WordPress interprets that information that we put in as OUR info and adds it to our profile. So, it’s assuming, that every time we register someone for a program ourselves, while logged-in, that we’re changing our profile info. So it just keeps the info of the last person we registered for a program. It happens anytime we register someone for a program ourselves (not when someone registers at home). So there’s no ‘one program’ where it’s occurring, it’s just every time we are logged-in and register someone manually.

And it’s happened to all of our staff, all logged-in with their own profiles to WordPress (since we need to see back-end info while we’re at work). And we can see the info of the last person who we helped register for a program. I noticed too, that WP will put that into the staff person’s profile as their name, address, email, etc. The only workaround we can find is to open another tab for the calendar that doesn’t see as logged-in.

Since the Help Desk link was private, it wouldn’t help to share it. But here it is: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/rsvp-info-pre-populated/

    Hi again,

Thanks for the additional details and the link to the other thread. I was able to come up with a code snippet based on this information.

You can add the following code to your theme’s functions.php file or in a functionality plugin.

    https://gist.github.com/skyshab/60813fc9daf78a8e80aea65b9159270c

That will prevent the name and email fields from being pre populated.

Let me know if that works for you, or if you have any additional questions about this.

    Thanks,
    Sky

So, unfortunately, that didn’t seem to do the trick…Here’s a screen shot of what happened when I registered for an upcoming program (Beautiful Hand Lettering) in October. As you can see from the top, I’m logged in (Kelley Beeson) but you can see the form is already populated with Elaine Fisher’s info (that I didn’t input today, but she was the last patron I registered for a program)….

    Hi again,

Thanks for providing the screenshot. The code snippet I created is for the attendee information that appears within the Event page ticket interface, once a number of tickets/rsvps is selected. The view in the screenshot is not part of our plugins, but rather part of WooCommerce.

Unfortunately, this is something you will need to figure out within the context of WooCommerce. The snippet I provided should still help with your use case, but I’m not sure how you would do something similar in WooCommerce. You might want to reach out to the folks at WooCommerce support.

    Hope that helps! Good luck!

    Thanks,
    Sky

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
