    Hi guys,

having an issue where the RSVP forms aren’t appearing on an event, and also the plus and minus buttons don’t work for increasing or decreasing rsvp numbers.

    http://staging-marzipanmedia.com/event/test-rsvp-free-talk/

The RSVP forms do actually appear when in a mobile view, but not tablet or desktop. but the plus and minus still do not work in that view.

The forms work fine for a paid / woocommerce plugin.

    Any help appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,

I tested reverting back to a default WP theme and this changed the form styling, and fixed the issue.

I reverted back to my theme, and tried changing the form styling options, but this did not fix the issue.

    Any ideas???

    Thank you!

Good afternoon Ben and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

    Hang in there!

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Ben,

    Thank you for the files.

I was able to establish that there seems to be a conflict with the Superfish JS package that comes with the Salient theme.

You can test that by removing line 38 of the functions.php file of your theme.

I would recommend reaching out to the good folks behind Salient to see what they would advise.
Ideally, if there was a way to dequeue Superfish in Tribe related pages, that could work.
Either that or consider upgrading the version of that script (which looks like it’s 4 years old).

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Hi Geoff,

Thank you so much for looking into this!

I passed onto your information to the themes dev, but unfortunately, he was vague in his response.

He simply said to ‘Try using this plugin or similar:” https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-asset-manager/ .’

Which doesn’t seem to make much sense to me. I’ve asked him to please clarify further how we should tackle this issue.

    Thanks,
    Ben

    Hi Geoff,

I was wondering if you had any ideas / fixes for this issue?

This is the only outstanding job I have for the website, which has now gone live and is being pushed out to the public tomorrow.

Unfortunately not getting a lot of help from the theme developer.

Would very much appreciate if you had any ideas!

    Thanks,
    Ben

    Hey Ben,

    Thank you for writing back.
I agree with you, the recommended plugin is a surprising suggestion.

I do not believe that will help with your situation.

I was wondering if you had any ideas / fixes for this issue?

Well, the “quick fix” is to remove line 38 of your functions.php file.
The obvious downside is that might break some of your theme’s functionality or styling (you would have to test to find out).

Another solution would to try to see if you could not update the version of Superfish being used in the theme.

Finally, with some code, you could dequeue Superfish in Tribe (calendar) related pages. If coding is not really your cup of tea, you could always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Hi Geoff,

I have an update regarding the issue here.

The theme developer tried dequeuing superfish for me (please see attachment) but unfortunately, this did not fix the issue.

He also tried updating superfish but this also didn’t work.

I also tried “removing line 38 of the functions.php file” but this causes the website not to load / function correctly.

    Any other ideas?

    Thank you.

Hi Geoff, thanks for having a look.

Weirdly the issue is only seen when using the ‘RSVP’ system on events tickets.

The ticketing system ‘paid’ or ‘free’ that comes with events tickets plus work fine. It is only the RSVP system that is seeing an issue.

    Does this make sense?

    Thanks again for the help.

    Cheers,

    Good evening Ben,

This is totally my bad. I got tricked into thinking this was an actual RSVP event (well played).

You are right, only RSVP tickets seem to be resistant to your WordPress theme for some reason.

As you know, we are fairly limited as to how much support we can provide for issues that are that theme-specific.

With that in mind, there are a couple of things I would like to try out before throwing the towel.
Would it be possible for you to setup a staging environment where I could operate freely (a copy of your current live site) ?

    Hang in there!

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics.
